Craze of the Freakshakes!

London is going through a craze of the freakshakes. Ever since it first launched in Australia, cafes, restaurants, dessert corners are going crazy for this monster, phenomenal, lashings of cream, chunks of brownies, chocolate, caramel, pretzels, nuts, biscuits and even a whole slice of pie concoction in a mason jug!

I haven’t yet had the chance to try one of these mega mountain pile of goodness in a glass, but here are some of the best places in London to go and indulge. My first visit will of course be Canvas Cafe in Shoreditch, specialising in Vegan, yessssss Vegan freeeeeeeeekshakes!!!!!

Canvas Cafe – Shoreditch – Specialists in vegan freakshakes and gluten free. Each freakshake created from scratch, homemade ice cream made from coconut milk blended with soya milk. Then gluten free, home made cake is added, and thats where the magic happens, which then sits on whipped coconut milk, mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm! Definitely better with it being vegan too, so yes obviously, this is my first place to try! And the fact I missed out on the official launch of the happy cafe hosted by Yelp London!

Molly’s Bakes – Dalston – Molly’s is named after husband and wife duo Maria Goodman and Olly. Maria is a baking goddess, specialising in all sorts of cakes, biscuits and home made yumminess. Her husband Olly came up with the genuis combo and started creating these amazing, delish, freakshakes in their new cafe, which launched in January. This cafe is so darn popular, make sure you arrive early, or just an hour before closing time. Lunch time is their busiests, so be prepared to queue up! molly-bakes-chocolate-freak-duo-raspberry-freak-zoe-flammang

Waffle Paradise – Green Street – East Shopping Centre – Newest latest dessert cafe to open in the newly built East Shopping Centre in Green Street. They provide a large variety of flavours, and their freakshakes are known as “The Vocanos” don’t believe me, just look at the picture below! :O Mixed with whipped cream and choose from over 30 flavours :O whhhhaaaaattttt, damn boy, now I need to go here!!! Choose from small with one flavour, or go for the colossal large and choose two flavours! image2.jpg

Heddon Street Kitchen – Heddon Street – The new craze has taken a twisted turn, so yes milk and cake can get a bit much, needs a bit jazzing up, like a volcano isn’t enough. The guys at Heddon Street have done exactly that, by adding your favourite alcohol to the concoction that already is, hallelujah!!!! Part of the Gordon Ramsey Group, this restaurant has everything you could possibly want and need in an adult milkshake! They have created three boozy shakes: Gentlemen’s breakfast, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, and Sassy Papa Don’t Preach. I’m pretty sure I want all three, obviously not all in one sitting, can you just imagine that!!!! Milk/alcohol, stomach popping overload! A sight even I don’t want to see……….

Maxwells – Covent Garden – Probably one of the best places to start off in Covent Garden. So these guys kept it well under wraps, they been selling these creations since last September!! Yep….. thats right!!!! Kept it pretty quite right! They have monthly flavours, and they also serve you wet wipes, so yassss its fine to make a mess 🙂image1.jpg

Street Feast – Bad Brownie Dalston Yard – These guys have been tearing up food markets, and now they are turning their chocolate brownies into shakes! A peanut nutter lovers dream come true, with peanut brittle, jelly, marshmallow, the works!!! My kind of heaven for sure! image.jpg

Go get your freak on baby! I definitely will be 🙂

LOVE these things! I am always looking where I can get my hands on food trends like freakshakes in London and am currently setting up a new social media where users can locate and recommend places to each other. I would really appreciate any feedback you may have on my latest blog post about my project🙂 x
