Judging by the amount of makeup posts I’ve done, it would be an under statement to say I was an addict, more like a junkie I’d say! Last year, so many amazing palettes came out and I got a chance to play with most of them! Some of them are my holy grails and some are a bit meh!
Juvia’s place is a brand which provides pigmented colours (as they state on their website), now all brands say that! It’s the same tag line so people like me or you would purchase! Prior to actually purchasing the palettes, I watched a lot of YouTube videos, and most of them were by NikkieTutorials Her complexion to mine is way off. But I wasn’t interested in that, I was more interested in the colour pay offs and the looks that can be created with the palettes.
Juvia’s place only launched in the UK last year, and it is only stocked by Beauty Bay. They are a similar price range to the Morphe, just a tad smidge more expensive, but definitely not in the same line as ABH. I hit that notification to be on the waiting list, once it landed on the site, yes I purchased. I bought two palettes: Mini Masquerade and The Magic Palette.
I love the packaging, its so chic and the colour is a great pay off, almost like the pink shadow in the palette itself! In terms of weight, its not heavy. Light and small, making it great for travelling. Now there is no mirror inside which is a shame, but that’s a minor thing.
The colours are gorg!!! There is something for everyone, from the warms to cool tones. I love the shimmers, and also matte shades for the crease, or for a simple day time look.
I love the colours in this palette. A little goes a long way, there is hardly any fallout, just blend blend blend! Deep intense colours, can create any look you want, subtle or bold!
The Magic Palette:
This palette is truly spectacular, the colours are a beaut! Warm and cool shades, with intense golds, love the duo chromes, and the shimmer metallic shades. They go on so nicely, and easy to blend and build up. I like to use the duo chromes with my finger to get maximum pay off. Using a brush with setting spray works well too!
Some of the mattes are patchy when doing swatches, but once applied on the eye, they go on like a dream. I’d apply a primer and set it if you want the shadows to last all day, and they do, trust me!
A look I created using both of the Juvia’s Place palettes, I went for a subtle daytime look which I them amped up, just added the same shades and blended it in, and created a spotlight in the middle.
These palettes are worth the money, they aren’t too pricey either and lasts for ages! I forever reach for these. Mini Masquerade Palette and Magic Palette are both £30.00 and can be purchased from Beauty Bay
